Symphony is RTS’ uHTS offer – aimed at those laboratories needing to screen in excess of 1,000,000 compounds per day.

 

Symphony was originally developed in conjunction with Novartis, Basel and was conceived as a multi-lane robot system combining local compound storage, reformatting, assay plate creation and screening. The Symphony concept is that of multiple robot systems working in concert, with RTS’ Sprint™ software conducting the various instruments and robots much as the maestro would conduct the orchestra in an Italian opera.

 

A Symphony system would typically include a local compound storage subsystem or module performing reformatting and assay plate creation duties plus one or more linked screening systems able to be operated either independently or as part of the integrated system.

 

This unique feature of Symphony - the ability for the user to control different parts of the system with separate instances of the Sprint scheduler, or to bring all instruments under the control of a single schedule as needs dictate for any given assay – offers unrivalled flexibility and power.

 

This approach provides the ultimate in flexibility, combining as it does the power of a large integrated system with the adaptability of separate workstations... allowing users to run u-HTS assays one day and concurrent HTS runs, small local screens or assay development activities another.
