Scheduling Software – Sprint


RTS offers a range of scheduling software packages, each appropriate to a specific application or range of applications. Where the scheduling requirements are such that an alternative approach would be better, we develop a scheduler to match that application.  Our automated storage and reformatting systems, inhaler test systems, blood fractionation systems, protein crystallography systems and screening systems each have their own scheduling solution.
 
Classic Sprint™ (or just SPRINT™ for short) was RTS’ first scheduling software solution and has been used ever since to control all our screening systems.
 
Sprint™ is a feature-rich dynamic scheduler which, when employed in conjunction with RTS’ Real Time Monitor (RTM™) software provides a powerful scheduling and process visualisation tool offering:-
  • Dynamic run-time (re-)scheduling
  • Instrument pooling and configurable storage management
  • Batch scheduling
  • Real time monitoring and display of assay progress (real or simulated)
  • Real-time QC / quality parameter calculation
  • Post-run maintenance schedules
  • Powerful system recovery
  • Security controlled system access
  • Sample and data tracking including standard and custom interfaces to client LIMS
Sprint™ is currently at Version 5 and a major new upgrade to version 6 is planned and due for release in 2010. RTS is a member of the SiLA (Standardisation in Laboratory Automation) - a Novartis / Roche-led initiative with the goal to developing a new interface standard allowing rapid integration of laboratory automation systems. Sprint 6 will be designed with SiLA in mind.
